Jennifer Thorstad, MA, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in individual and family counseling. Areas of expertise include attachment/adoption support, history of trauma, various types of anxieties, behavioral/emotional disorders of childhood, ADHD and Executive Functioning, and crisis needs. Jennifer utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment-focused therapy, narrative therapy, creative therapies, play therapy, and reality based techniques. Jennifer is also a certified HeartMath practitioner and can utilize heart-rate variance biofeedback. Jennifer has a Masters Degree in Counseling from UNC Charlotte and has experience counseling in various settings including outpatient therapy, enhanced mental health services for children and adolescents, and psychiatric emergency services.
